Buckley Street, Moonee Ponds

Proposal – Construction of a five storey mixed use building comprising a food and drink premises (café) and 37 apartments.

Our role – Pre-application advice, preparation of town planning report, on-going services and lodgement at Council, preparation and representation at VCAT.

Architect – John Demos Architects

Outcome – Planning Permit MV/278/2017 was issued by Moonee Valley City Council on 12 June 2018 subject to conditions including the deletion of one storey (making it a four storey building).

 
Terrain Consulting Group then applied to VCAT to contest several permit conditions.
 
After a successful Compulsory Conference (mediation hearing) between Moonee Valley City Council and the adjoining Ukrainian Orthodox Church, an amended Planning Permit was issued on 2 November 2018 which
deleted the condition requiring the deletion of one storey, thus reinstating the building to five storeys as originally proposed.
